The VNA-0440 is a full bi-directional 2-port Vector Network Analyser (VNA), covering the most popular telecom bands, such as GSM-LTE, Wifi, Dect, GPS, GSM, etc. with it's frequency range of 400MHz-4GHz.
Many customers order the VNA-0440-SB Starter Kit, a VNA and the VNA Sandbox together, to get started straight out-of-the-box. (It also costs less than buying them separately!)
MegiQ has developed a new custom cabinet for the VNA-0440 and VNA-0460 series. It is a two piece milled aluminium cabinet that integrates all the different shielding measures that were used in the previous version. Besides a much nicer styling, the new cabinet is more robust, improves shielding and has better thermal behaviour, resulting in much quieter operation.
The unit is USB-driven and comes with the following accessories:

  • PC-software for controlling, saving data and set-ups, analysis, reporting, etc.
  • USB Cable and Power Adapter.
  • Suitcase with handy accessory box.
Because of the very small size of the unit, it is specially suited for use with the small micro-electronic circuits of today. It is very handy to use, giving you results where far bulkier instruments cannot.

This VNA is ideal for measuring all kinds of micro-circuits like antennas, attenuators, amplifiers etc. Its frequency range includes most popular telecom bands such as GSM-GPRS-LTE, Wifi, DECT, GPS, ISM, Zigbee, and Bluetooth. With its small size, it can also be used close to the antenna inside a large device or installation, and is ideal for on-site measurements.

MegiQ VNA Sandbox Educational Board

The VNA Sandbox was created as a way to get familiar with VNA measurements and their meaning on the screen.
You will start with a calibration of the measurement with the on-board UFL calibration kit. Then you are ready to measure the different impedances and networks. A tutorial is included that will explain how to measure, what you see on the screen and why some of the measurements may look different from what the theory tells us.
There are 1-port networks, 2-port attenuators, filters and an active amplifier component. Two antennas give you the opportunity to try the point-and-match function of the our VNA products, and measure the coupling between them.
The VNA Sandbox can be used with any VNA up to 6GHz.

MegiQ BalCal Kit for Balanced and UFL Calibration

The BalCal (Balanced Calibration) kit is a connectivity and calibration kit for balanced and UFL VNA measurements in sub-miniature RF-electronic circuits. It contains adapters from SMA and UFL to balanced pinheaders. The kit provides probing and calibration for the very small UFL connectors and for balanced lines, allowing you to connect your VNA to very small circuits in a well behaved way.
The kit assumes your VNA has SMA-f connectors. In the case of a VNA with N-type connectors, you can use N-to-SMA converters.

The kit comes in a handy accessories box and contains:

MegiQ RMS-0740/GEN-OUT, Automated 700MHz-4GHz Antenna Radiation Pattern Measurement System with integrated signal generator

The RMS-0740 is an automated system enabling you to characterize the performance of your antennae on many important key parameters in a very easy and quick way - and it is very affordable too!
As with MegiQ's VNAs, the RMS is a very nice, indispensible system to speed up and improve your antenna designs. For example, did you realise that improving your antenna efficiency by only 3dB will save you a lot of battery drain because you can cut the output power in half? Or that finding and eliminating 'nulls' in the radiation pattern will give you a much more reliable system performance.
The RMS-0740 can measure self-transmitting devices (when they are programmed to transmit a test signal). The test signal can either be a constant carrier or a fast stream of test packages. Alternatively it can also be a device that is forced to communicate (almost) continuously, such as an access point that is kept busy with large data transfers.
For measuring standalone antennae, these can be driven from the integrated optional signal generator.
The RMS-740 is also available as a basic system without the integrated signal generator.
For measuring large devices, up to 30kg, a heavy-duty turntable is also available - see HDTT.

  • Features of the RMS-0740:
    • Dual narrow beam width broadband measurement antenna:
    • Dual, because you can measure horizontal and vertical polarization in one go! Narrow beam width, so that the environment does not play a big role. This saves you the need of an anechoic room!
  • Dual channel measurement receiver:
    • The use of a smart dual antenna and a dual channel measurement receiver gives you the possibility to measure both vertical and horizontal polarization in one go. This speeds up measurement by almost a factor of two! The measurement receiver is controlled by the software.
  • Automated DUT turntable:
    • The DUT will be supported by an automated turntable, controlled by the same software. The turntable is adjustable in height, and the turntable controller is integrated in the turntable stand.
  • PC Software:
    • The software that comes with the system controls the receiver and the turntable controller. It lets you set measurement parameters very easily, save and recall settings and measurements, exporting results.
    • Once set, you push a button for each axis, and the measurement is fully automatic. Saving the settings and results enables you to compare results from previous measurements. Also once set, the system can be operated without having to know much about antennas. It measures multiple frequencies at one go so, if you wish, you can look at radiation patterns over a frequency band or at harmonic content.
  • Results of the RMS. The system performs the following measurements:
    • Parameters such as ERP, total radiated power, antenna gain, average power, max power, etc. Graphical representation of the radiation patterns, such as horizontal and vertical, in all axis Measuring on multiple frequencies on one screen
